Training

Here at Skoye Fitness within the EVP Center I provide specialized semi-private
functional and athletic training - where I get to know your goals, history and
current fitness level first (free assessment and consultation provided) followed by
coaching and guiding you through your customized program. All training sessions

last from 50min to 1 hour long, and have a maximum of 2 to 3 people (depending
on the time slot). This allows you to have your own personalized program at a
competitive rate while enjoying the benefits of a community minded workout
environment! As a professionally certified trainer I make sure you have:

1. A customized and safe program centered around You. Whether its injury
prevention/injury strengthening, weight loss, athletic training, or anything in
between, your program will focus on your needs first so you can do what you
want afterwards. In most cases, clients have a blend of mobility work, strength
work, and cardio/conditioning work in all of their programs.

2. The proper form and technique to execute your exercises and movements
correctly.

3. Accountability and Structure to your fitness routine so that you can achieve
your best self and accomplish your goals! No more guess work at what to do or
falling off the wagon.

My background first and foremost is in functional fitness training. At the heart of
it functional training to me means striving for a holistic approach to your everyday
movement modalities:

a) range of motion (how far can I reach in various directions pain free? Do my
limbs have an appropriate range of motion? What are my limitations?)

b) strength work (how much can I pull/push or move? Can I pickup my kids or
grandkids? Can I hit the ball with enough force to get the point?)

c) cardio/conditioning (Am I tired after cleaning the house? Can I keep up with
my kids or active friends? Am I out of breath quickly after various exercise
activities?)

All three play a vital role in what we can do with our bodies, and good functional
training addresses each component in one capacity or another.

Brantley Skoye
About Brantley

When I grew up movement and play was a big part of my life, including playing various sports such as hockey, soccer and badminton. As I got older I began having more and more interest in "working out"; and fitness at the gym, culminating in making it a career at age 23! Ten years later I have since expanded to regularly playing squash, tennis and yes starting to play pickleball as well! Thankfully my passion for helping others achieve their health and wellness goals has always been there too. I have since helped hundreds of clients with their fitness journey, and am grateful to have had many long term clients stay with me for years!

Here in Edmonton in my spare time I love spending time with my wife Victoria and our daughter Valerie, alongside our dogs Mira and Sarge plus cats Chappie and Gaston.

Testimonals

“Brantley is fantastic! He has been both mine and my husband’s trainer for over 3 years. His intuition to focus on your posture, strength, and flexibility is second to none. He is adaptable for all injuries (I have a terrible back) and he has made adjustments to my training program on the spot – to help me get the most out of my workout. He plans two separate but personalized programs for me and my husband, and executes them simultaneously. We both get plenty of attention throughout our sessions. Finally, his empathy and approach to training has been eye opening and VERY welcoming. He has made us love the gym again and helped us both become stronger and more flexible while having fun!”
